you can keep it in your kitchen, porch, garage, but just be careful to keep it away from where critters can get into it. They have been known to gnaw through the lid. If you are concerned about the smell check out our Clear the Air, we make it in house!
You can use our homemade all natural additive, Clear the Air, that ferments the scraps. All you do is sprinkle them on after you put your scraps in. Also seal the lid tight every time you add food scraps helps! Other ideas: Some people freeze their scraps to avoid smell. Others use baking soda.
Yes, you can put these in, just make sure to mix them in with food scraps to help them decompose. Any compostable container you purchase food or get take out in is great. We just ask for you to please mix them with food to start the decomposition process.
The sorting machines are made to take anything non compostable out, but they are not sent to be recycled. So if we take the extra time to rinse and recycle then it is best!
First of all we suggest that you try squishing the food scraps into the bucket. They will condense, so much that you can fit up to 30 pounds in one bucket. If not you can purchase a second bucket and pay the additional monthly fee or for each pick up.
Yes, anything on the list from the what we do page or on your bucket are good to go. We just ask for you to please mix them with food to start the decomposition process.
No, although we haven't yet paid for labor at some point we hope to. Contrary to popular thought even if we were a non profit our fees still would not be tax deductible, because it is a good/service of equal value rather then getting a free gift like socks from a donation you give. Despite this we are pursuing avenues to work with nonprofits to help us grow and you can help by giving the gift of service to others- Thank you for your help, please contact us or see clients only page at the bottom to sign up.
